GET PAID AT SERVICE
Start patients self-pay with their Start Benefit Card so you get paid upfront at the time of service. That means no more “chasing the check” or spending valued time with your patients processing complex claims.
PROVIDE AN ITEMIZED RECEIPT
Patients will provide Start with an itemized bill from your office that will later be submitted for reimbursement of their expense. The itemized receipt will include key details about their visit with you.**

HOW DO I GET PAID?
You see a patient and they pay you at the time of service. Welcome to the new world of healthcare. Make sure you give the patient a detailed itemized receipt or an EOB so that they can easily be reimbursed for their care.
*WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT WHEN I PARTNER WITH START?
Starter Doctors play a key role in solving the high cost of healthcare. When you partner with us, you’ll participate in a program that lowers the cost of care for patients. You are part of the solution. Start is essentially a claimless, cash-based process. Healthcare should be as simple as the rest of the market—you should get paid at the time of service. Our members pay upfront with their Start Card or cash, and you’re done. When you partner with us, we give you preferred placement in our search portal. If you agree to our reimbursement rates, you’ll show up toward the top of our lists when a member is searching for a procedure. If you don’t accept our reimbursement rates, you’ll have the opportunity to tell us what rate you do accept, but you may show up lower on our provider search.
**WHAT SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN AN ITEMIZED RECEIPT?
Itemized receipts should include the following:
- CPT codes
- Date of service
- Description of service
- Charge amount
