Your Questions, Answered.
What type of health plan is Start Health?
Start Health is a reimbursement plan—not traditional insurance. We reimburse fixed amounts based on care received. This approach gives our members the freedom to choose any provider, and shop for care that best fits their needs and budget by comaring provider’s cash prices with our reimbursement rates.
What makes Start Health most unique is that it’s the only HSA-qualified plan of its kind, allowing members to pay for care tax-free through their Start HSA Card. This combination of flexibility, transparency, and savings creates an extraordinary benefit for our members.
Why should I partner with Start Health?
Partnering with Start Health means less hassle and more patients. You’ll be paid at the time of service, which means no more waiting on claims or “chasing checks.” You’ll also gain visibility in our provider search, with preferred placement when you align your cash rates with our reimbursement rates, helping new patients find you first. Most importantly, you’ll be part of a growing network of doctors dedicated to making healthcare more affordable and accessible.
How do I know if a patient is a Start Health member?
Start Health patients will simply let you know they are a Start Health member at the time of their visit. They will self-pay at the time of service at your cash rate. Because you do not bill Start Health directly, there is no member ID card. All you need to do is provide the patient with an itemized bill, which they will later submit to Start Health for reimbursement.
